BOATING TO & FROM RAETIHI LODGE
There are many ways to access the beauty of the Sounds from the water. You could choose to make your way to the Lodge by combining a cruise and transfer with Pelorus Mail Boat. Otherwise you can hire a yacht for a couple of hours, or days; take a cruise around the Kenepuru Sound and hear about the history of the area, and visit some mussel farms; take a fishing trip with some of the Sounds most experienced fishermen, and it’s all on the doorstep of Raetihi Lodge.

Interested in chartering your own boat or sailing vessel, bareboat or skippered and/or crewed? Here are some charter companies to contact:
SINGLE & DOUBLE KAYAKS
Single and double kayaks are available for complimentary use to our accommodation guests. Why not take a couple of hours to paddle to see the remains of the Amokura shipwreck, just a couple of bays around from the Lodge – it’s quite spectacular. We have a selection of different sized life jackets available, including children’s sizes. Please make your bookings at Reception.
SUPS - STANDUP PADDLE BOARDS
SUPs are available for complimentary use by our accommodation guests at Raetihi Lodge. You can get some exercise while exploring the neighboring bays and sites around the Kenepuru Sound. We have a selection of different sized life-jackets available, including children’s sizes. Please make your bookings at Reception.
FISHING
Guests at Raetihi Lodge can use the complimentary fishing rods to try to catch a snapper off the jetty… it’s been done before! Bait is also available.
Fishing Anglers of all skills and ability will enjoy the saltwater fishing of the Marlborough Sounds. Come and experience fishing in the stunning coastal waters. These companies offer full day or half day fishing tours, and will help with filleting and bagging your catch for you to take home.
