Since the 1930s, Raetihi Lodge has built a reputation as one of the most popular destinations in the Marlborough Sounds.

In April 2014, Alan and Liane Campbell purchased Raetihi Lodge. Having spent many years travelling the world in careers based around Mining and the Arts, far-removed from hospitality, they became seasoned travellers staying as guests in hotels around the world and wanted to take those experiences and build them into Raetihi Lodge to deliver a product that they would be proud of.

With the expert guidance of our interior designer, Maddie Jungstead; experienced builder, Brett Smith; and landscaper, Diane Kennedy, further renovations and upgrades, combined with a fresh, contemporary interior décor were completed. The Lodge buildings, internal spaces, jetty, gardens, grounds and staff accommodation were all upgraded and improved, and a boat was purchased to facilitate guest transfers. Further renovations and upgrades continue to be undertaken.

Raetihi Lodge prides itself on its casually elegant interior design complemented with warm service, intangible conversations, fresh local produce and culinary creativity. Our accommodation and facilities have been rated 5-star Hosted Qualmark and are is located amidst the serenity and natural beauty of the New Zealand native bush, wildlife and beaches. The lodge features 14 rooms and can accommodate up to 28 guests. We have received rave reviews & Certificates of Excellence from Trip Advisor over the years and look forward to delivering fine food, excellent services, facilities and experiences to all our guests in the years to come.

To adapt to the challenges of operating in a post Covid-19 environment, we amended our business model to Exclusive Use Bookings, any time of year, and Stay and Dine packages, which are available on dedicated weekends and over the Summer period.

We welcome all-inclusive Exclusive Use bookings, and Stay and Dine package enquires, directly to Liane Campbell liane@raetihilodge.co.nz
