Raetihi Lodge stands on the shore of Kenepuru Sound in New Zealand’s panoramic Marlborough Sounds region, in the South Island. There are many options to get to Raetihi Lodge depending from which direction you’re coming.

For those arriving by vehicle from Blenheim, Picton or Nelson direction, the most popular way is to drive 45 minutes from Havelock to Te Mahia jetty, where you have the option to park your car, then take our private ‘Miss Raetihi Lodge’ boat for a 10 minute scenic trip over to the Lodge. (Please enquire: (03) 573 4300 about transfer costs).

Otherwise you can drive to Havelock and either join up with Marlborough Tour Company’s Greenshell Mussel Cruise which can drop you to Raetihi Lodge about 3.30pm , OR every day the Pelorus Mail Boat leaves at 10.15am morning, and can transport you to Raetihi Lodge for lunch (or stay longer) and then return back to Havelock later that afternoon. Finally, you can leisurely drive all the way to the Lodge which is about 2 hours from Havelock or 3 hours drive from Blenheim or Nelson.

Another popular quicker option is via a charter plane or helicopter flight from Picton, Nelson, Wellington or Blenheim Airports, arriving at our private helipad or at Nopera Airstrip, where our Lodge car can meet you (about 4 kms from Lodge). We have partnered with Pelorus Air  to offer fantastic rates from Wellington to Nopera at only $169 per adult.

Those guests who have arrived in Picton off the Interislander Ferry or by Train, you can take a water taxi from Picton to Waterfall Bay, and then our skipper can meet you at Waterfall, transfer you over the hill to Te Mahia where you can avail our guest boat transfer. The Picton Water Taxi companies we recommend are Arrow Water Taxis, Cougarline or Beachcomber Water Taxis.

Finally, if you have your own boat in the Sounds, our new 20m floating jetty makes accessibility by boat easy, and you can tie up any size boat without hassle. Moorings are also available.

Want to join us for lunch or dinner?  During the summer season we offer a very reasonably priced restaurant guest transfer boat service from Te Mahia for casual Restaurant guests. Bookings essential Phone: +64 3 573 4300.
